About First Baptist Church
of  White Hall

History

First Baptist Church of White Hall began as a church plant in 1924, founded on a vision to serve God and share His love within our community. Over the past century, our church has grown in both size and impact, becoming a steadfast beacon of hope and light for the Lord. Through countless seasons of challenge and blessing, God has faithfully worked in and through us, shaping our congregation to be His hands and feet. From local outreach to global missions, we have sought to make His name known and glorified. As we reflect on the last 100 years, we are humbled and grateful for the opportunity to witness His transformative power and look forward to continuing His work for generations to come.

First Baptist Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and aligns with the doctrines and beliefs presented in the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.

A Summary of Our Beliefs:

The Scriptures
We believe that the Bible, consisting of all 66 books, is divinely inspired by God and inerrant in its original writings. By God’s providence, His Word has been preserved and serves as the only infallible and authoritative guide for faith and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:11, 89, 105)

God
We believe in one true, eternally existing God who reveals Himself in three co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As Creator and Sustainer of all things, He alone is worthy of worship and obedience.
(Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Genesis 1:31; Luke 3:21-22; Matthew 28:18-20; Revelation 4:11)

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross to pay for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return personally, visibly, and gloriously.
(John 1:1-3,14; Matthew 1:18-25; Philippians 2:5-9; Colossians 1:15; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:11)

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and co-equal with the Father and the Son. He convicts the world of sin, regenerates and sanctifies believers, indwells all who trust in Christ, and empowers them to live godly lives.
(John 14:16-19; John 16:7-15; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 8:9,11; Titus 3:5)

Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, entirely apart from human works, and is based solely on Christ’s atoning death. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ—His finished work on the cross and His resurrection.
(Ephesians 2:8-10; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

The Church
We believe the church is the body of Christ and the family of God. It consists of saved and baptized believers who regularly gather for worship, fellowship, and ministry.
(Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Hebrews 10:25)

Evangelism
We believe it is every Christian’s responsibility and privilege to share the good news of Jesus Christ and to make disciples who grow in their faith.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

Vision

"We are called to join God in loving and serving our community and the world" - by reflecting His heart for all people. This means building meaningful relationships, meeting needs with compassion, and sharing the hope of Christ both locally and globally. Through acts of kindness, outreach, and missions, we strive to demonstrate His love in tangible ways while equipping others to live out their faith. Together, we seek to be a reflection of God’s grace, uniting as His hands and feet to bring light to a world in need.
